Nice feedback re: documentary movie

Got an email today about the JazzCode documentary:

VERY INTERESTING! Really enjoyed watching that and feel very simpatica with Mr Stormer...actually its not just jazz music where you are at your best when improvising...song writing and TV/film music is also about working very quickly as part of a team, having a shared bank of common reference points and a shared objective...and you have to chop out ideas really really fast as inevitably there's a deadline but also a determination for the musical result to be really cool...I also treat teaching music as an improvisation...you react to whatever walks into your room......I dont have any exercises I regularly do, although I do hear myself repeating certain phrases when teaching, which, I suppose, are my teaching 'licks'...yeah, really got me thinking about what I do!

All very very interesting..........would love to get involved if CS ever comes to the UK

I would love to come to the UK!  Lots of great musicians and smart people in need of battle tested models for  collaborative improvisations.

A documentary about the JazzCode!

Nordisk Film, the largest film production house in Scandinavia is in the final stages of completing a documentary about the JazzCode based on the collaboration we did last summer with Cameron Brown, Rob Scheps and Jamie Reynolds.  The documentary follows us as the musicians arrive from New York, on a sound check (the same day), a concert (the same night), and during recording and mixing of a CD at worldfamous Rainbow Studios in Oslo.  When we first met at the airport, we had never played together before, and the film talks about:

• How improvisation is the most sensible thing to do in a changing world
• How we use instruments to divide work
• How the notion of perfections changes in a collective imrovisational setting

McKinsey's EMEA director, Tore Myrholt, talks about strategy and the importance of being in the moment, and it is intersting to notice how aligned Cameron Brown and Tore Myrholt are when it comes to the importance of presence and an open mind.
